    hey gang,

i've got a Z10 LE. I've been having a problem with the Text SMS app since 10.2, so i thought i'd try reloading the device software. plugged into computer and ran Reload in Link, but Link only offers to install 10.0.9, then errors out after download when trying to install. (i understand the error is because 10.0.9 is considered insecure and won't install anymore).

i can't find a way to force link to download 10.2 official. I can't find a way to install 10.2 official that doesn't use Link.

is there something special about the LE?

i just plugged in a non-LE Z10 and it finds 10.2 official no problem. I'm download that now, will refresh the original Z10 first, and then see if i can install it to the LE now that it's downloaded..

any insights would be greatly appreciated!

    thx,

    J

i would just download an autoloader of 10.1 OS. It should then upgrade you to the 10.2 official if you have a SIM of a carrier that has released 10.2

I already have 10.2 on the LE device, it's just not working very well. So in trying to reload.

But link tells me the latest version for the LE device is 10.0.9.

    I just refreshed a non-LE z10 with no issues.

It appears as though something is wrong with the LE.

I'd use a 10.2 autoloader to reload the OS.

As in one of the leaks?

Is there such a thing as an autoloader for official versions?

The only official OSs that are distributed as autoloaders instead of over the air are the Developer OSs, but those are deliberately missing some things, as they're intended for testing and not general use.

To get the official OS as an autoloader, one can grab the OS files from their carrier with Sachesi and create an autoloader, or download an autoloader from the forums if it has been released previously. Regardless of whether it's a leaked autoloader or otherwise, the files can't be changed by anyone outside BlackBerry. So, say, a leaked 1791/1803 autoloader contains identical files as to the 1791/1803 that carriers are pushing out.
