Is there a way to make the bedside mode auto kick -in say at midnight and auto-disable at say 6 AM so that my Z10 does not beep all night long with email and other notifications! Thank you in advance :) ^^

I've been looking for a solution to this for 10 months. for now, I think the closest you're going to get is to find a profile switching app to switch to "phone calls only" during certain times.
:( This is so messed up. I cant sleep at night with all the beeps! So the only choices to not being disturbed during sleep are to either add on an extra task of switching to a silent profile every single time i sleep or to simply turn off all sound notifications for good? What a smartphone haha. Even my former stupid phones had auto profiles options :( how disappointing
Well I guess I'm lucky I had my bedside mode on and sleep just fine. The only thing I did was enable phone calls so that is the only thing that can wake me up. The chirps & beeps I don't hear them in bedside mode.

Same here. I don't get any beeps and stuff with bedside mode on :)
Same here, only phone calls in bedside mode
The Watcher headless app can be set to engage at a time and change profiles and then change profiles at another set time. But the thread seems to indicate it is still a bit quirky, possibly.
I'm not sure why the op wants bedside mode to auto turn off? Why not just take it off bedside mode when you wake up? Turn phones calls only on if you are worried about missing something.

It takes exactly 4.2 seconds to turn on profile you need, I don't see point of automatically changing them.

True I don't see a point to have bedside mode to be automatically switched on & off. All it takes is a swipe up to disable & a swipe down to enable.

That's probably true. I imagine they want it to engage at night automatically. Upon waking, I guess the instinct is to take it off bedside mode.
I think it depends on who one lives or travels with. Instant death if I forgot and the phone woke her up!!!! :rotfl:
i'm happy with how bedside mode is activated.i work for a heavy duty towing company,so i need my phone to ring at anytime while i'm sleeping.when i want to go to sleep,i plug the charger in and swipe down to turn on bedside mode, hasn't failed me yet.
My z would never stfu if I let all notifications go through. I only have audible alerts for calls, the rest is led. I don't know how I used to do it smh lol. I love bedside mode because of the snooze feature.
? AT&T Z10 STL100-3/10.2.0.1791 ?
Thankyou for your replies everyone! :)
It isnt that it takes forever to activate bedside mode or change a profile, and it isnt that the bedside mode isnt cool.
Again, at least I have a ridiculously busy life and i actually sometimes fall asleep in the middle of reading work stuff. What auto-profiles does (a feature ive had for the last 15 or so years in my previous phones, not BB) is tells a phone to activate bedside mode everyday during certain hours, say 11 PM to 6 AM (or any hours you prefer), and eliminates an extra task of having to remember to change a mode when you sleep and again when you wake up.
Again, it isnt how short changing a mode itself takes (no matter if it's 1 second), it's the fact that i have to remember to do it every single time i snooze and when i wake up. 'course im new to BB and to CB even, and this is only my first smartphone, but auto-profiles is almost such an essential, basic feature that im shocked it isnt there. I'm kind of even more surprised why its so hard to understand even the need for an auto-profile mode! i guess BB never had it, but once you've experienced it, then not having it, is like....oh no, i want it!! :)
I would agree that it would be nice to have bedside mode kick in at a set time and switch off at another time.
BBOS had a similar capability. But it was part of charging. In the clock settings you could set the phone to switch to bedside mode when plugged in. In addition, you could set the switching to be restricted to between a set timeframe. I used to use 11:00pm to 6:00am on my 9800 that I would put on the charger every night.
What the OP is asking is similar to that last feature, just without being tied to being on the charger.

Just download Profile Changer from BBWorld. It's a headless app now with the official 10.2.
I get it completely. It is one more thing a SMART phone can accomplish automatically. Another features of Earlier BB OS's was auto on/off. I am not indispensable. So calls during the night are not life/death - the older OS had an auto on/off. The entire phone could turn off/on at a designated period. Mine was OFF between 11pm and 6:15am. No alerts, no sounds, no phone. But if you had set an alarm it could turn on and sound the alarm. Saved power and I did NOT HAVE to think or set it. Obviously, if you wanted it off earlier or on earlier you could do that manually.
Thanks so much for the tip! Is it called 'profile changer'? I only see a profile changer for BBM? Also, whats a headless app?
They might mean this one
