Just turn off protect first, remove all passwords, and then run an autoloader or perform a security wipe. It will be like new.

Would you have to remove your device from the BlackBerry Protect website too? Or does turning it off on the phone do the same thing?

I've never had to go online to do anything.

Figured I'd add an experience here. Thought it was odd and may have just been a mistake, but I switched to AT&T for the Passport and when I gave my sister my Verizon Z30 I was still able to log on to my Protect account using my BBID and had access to the Verizon Z30 still. This was after I had done a security wipe to the welcome screen and she signed in with her BBID. Left it on there for a while... was thinking about pranking her a bit (all for fun of course), but I eventually just manually removed the device in BlackBerry Protect.

If you are unsure, you can do the same. Just sign in to the BlackBerry Protect site and see if the device is there. If it still is you can manually remove it.

Do you recall, while on the Protect site, if it stated under the device that "Anti-Theft Protection" was "On"?

I don't believe it was even an option since at the time the device was on 10.2 through Verizon. So if I remember correctly, there was no Anti-Theft on.
