    The STL100-1 does not have a Snapdragon.

    I can answer your question in reverse: the 100-2/3/4 have the Snapdragon SoC because they are LTE models.

    Probably because the more affordable TI OMAP version (STL100-1) is to cater to mostly (not all) developing nations. Check Wikipedia link below:-

    STL100-1 is non LTE (OMAP processor can't handle LTE - or so i've read). Snapdragon processor is compatible with LTE and as such is present in the STL100-2/3/4 models as they are the LTE variants.
