Hi, has anyone experienced this and/or found a way to fix it (permanently)?

Essentially my microphone stopped working on calls. I can hear the caller but they can't hear me. And yet, it works fine on speaker.

I tried a security wipe and restore and it fixed it for a few calls and then stopped again. Next time I just restored settings over the top and again it fixed it for a couple of calls.

    Z10, STL100-2, 10.2.1.2102 (official, Vodafone UK).

The problem with a restore on the OS your running is that you might be taking a few bugs back in, you should try a wipe and do a fresh install , back your contacts on a app like contactx and your email suncs and all app are in bbw, or try the new 2947 its been really great.

But if that were the case should it work even for a few calls initially? If the backup includes the bugs then when I restore it the bugs would be installed with it but it works to start with which implies that they aren't.

    Probably. *shrug*

I don't feel uncomfortable with it I'm just reluctant to go through all that hassle for nothing. It does look like a software issue but I'm wondering why. And installing a leak may "fix" it, but it won't necessarily *fix* it if you see what I mean. And then what if I have to end up going to my carrier anyway, they won't support a leak so I'll have to go through it all again.

I don't mean to sound like I'm rejecting your help, I appreciate it, but you're just (educated) guessing like me. I'm wondering if anyone else has actually had the same issue and has some proven experience with it, that's all. But I'll try the leak anyway while I'm waiting.

If the leak doesn't fix it and it turns out to be hardware, I have sent my devices back to BlackBerry for repair with leaks on them. When it returns it will have stock.

I did and it tells me what I already know. When it works it works, when it doesn't it doesn't.
