    Hi

I am in the UAE in Etisalat network with a Z10 STL100 - 1 and just got the official 10.2 update OTA and have installed it

I am unable to enable the priority calling feature that us listed in the settings for the phone app.

I was running a leak previously and loved this feature but now with the official software the option is still visible but the switching on and off toggle is greyed out and can't be used.

Can anyone advice why this is happening.

Have re started the phone a couple of times hoping it will get sorted but to no avail.

Please help as this is such a smart and convenient feature I love using when I am.not able to take a call.

I'll bump this. I have to be honest, I don't even know what Priority Calling is (and it seems to be grayed out on my Verizon phone).

Priority calling us or was almost identical in behaviour to Reply now.

If one got a call from a mobile number that is stored in ones contacts as a mobile then all one had to do is cancel the incoming call and one of four pre determine messages would show in the screen out if which u could select any one which would then be sent to the calling number using the most polar communication option that the phone can see was used between you and the caller.

For example if the caller and you have communicated in the past via BBM then the message would go as a BBM message or if u used WhatsApp then it would go as a WhatsApp message.

If no form of text communication was used earlier then the message went as a SMS

One didn't have to touch the message icon like one has to now to use the reply now feature. Priority calling was activated by just cancelling the incoming call.

Was a cool feature and would love to have it back.

Priority Calling deals with phone lines not replying to unwanted calls.

Yea you are confusing "priority calling" with "reply now". They are different options and what u described above is labeled "reply now" in the phone settings.

But how can one have multiple phone lines on one device when there is only one sim card slot and one line associated with it.

The 'Reply Now' feature in 10.2.1 was called 'Priority Calling' in 10.2, which is probably what is causing the confusion. In 10.2.1 they've changed the function of 'Priority Calling' to something else.

I can't speak for other countries but in UK it is quite common to have two lines and numbers, one for personal, one for business for example. It will of course cost you more. From the carriers point of view it is just a case of associating an extra phone number with your sim card

    This makes more sense. Thanks.

So now the question is what priority calling means on 10.2 and why is it greyed out right now.

Once blackberry gets away from the consumer market and goes enterprise you watch how fast that box won't be grayed out anymore, as we will no longer be consumers lol

You just gotta have 2 phones in the us as far as I know. They won't let you gave 2 numbers on one phone. At least when I asked they said no.

I hope they stay in the consumer market. This is my first BlackBerry and I want more someday. I'm not a power business user but I do need to have a phone for personal and work use don't freeze out the consumers that aren't all business.
