I have a BlackBerry z10 on o2 and recently I've been experiencing trouble with text messages not being received and sent and the Internet connection being very poor. I've checked o2's signal coverage for my area and it seems 2g is working better than 3g so is there a way to turn off 3g?

I don't think turning off 3G will help, but maybe? If you want to try, just shut off data which should default you to Edge (2G). But I don't believe texts work on anything higher anyway, That is, they work over straight GSM.

Swipe from top and click on mobile network

Below you will see Network Mode
By default it should be 3g and 2g
Change that to 2g only so you will get egde connection only and when you want 3g change that to 3g/2g or only 3g

Shut of the data will get you 2g Edge?

It will disable the internet on your smartphone and only calls will go through

I've had my Curve 9320 and recently my Z10 on 2G while there was a local mast problem.

I had calls, texts, email, and BBM on 2G.

I will add....since tbe latest update the 2G option has gone from my Z10. It now 2 and 3g as the lowest setting.

That setting depends on carrier I believe, not something device specific.
