I will comment that one should use common sense if they attempt to get the phone back from a thief... I personally would involve the police and let them retrieve it for you...

The whole idea of pulling a Spider Man to get your phone back is absurd. Have a phone lock. A sim lock and know your IMEI #. Call in the IMEI and move on to a new phone.

Over a stupid phone, senseless really.

I think it costs me very little to insure my phone for theft and accidental damage, there is nothing I need on my phone that isn't backed up constantly. I made sure I had insurance on my phone when I bought it. I'd be irritated if I let anything happen to my phone but that's about it.

He wasn't wearing his ninja jacket... BlackBerry Protect clearly states that in the event of your brain fogging up and you approach a subsidized housing complex, to put on Ninja outfit or to call police.

The former is my choice of actions since it makes a good dinner story. Although no ninja suit no more dinners.

Very sad it is all over a 200-600.00 dollar phone?

    Not worth your life.

Of course u bet he never suspected to be stabbed and killed, but he should of involved the police, now if course it's to late.

BlackBerry Protect is for protecting the device. Try Ruger products for personal protection.

Never confront a theif without protection or police presence!
We should all learn from this story so that kids death isn't in vain. Not sure if BlackBerry Protect mentions in the agreement, but a disclaimer should be highlighted before it basically gives you directions to a potentially deadly situation.

So I have a question regarding BlackBerry Protection.
If I lost or someone stole my phone. I can track it via data (GPS), I can also put a message and change the lock code from BlackBerry Protect website.
If I chose to wipe the phone, I know that it'll clear the phone of my personal information, but what about my personal material on the SD card?
My SD card has lots of personal material too: pictures, reports, videos, music, memos... That doesn't erase on a clear phone does it?
    Thanks.

So ur the reason for dumb signs and warnings? What happened to common sense and being responsible for your own actions... What is this world coming too 'Caution** breathing hard may leave you short of breath'
