    Hello all,

I have just been upgraded to a Z10 for my business phone and I'm having an issue with my outgoing emails. Yesterday we set the phone up and everything was working fine. However, this morning only incoming messages arrive, all outgoing messages stay stuck with the little clock symbol. Any idea on what could have this caused this overnight?

    Thanks,
    Alejandro Tejada

Has it been on wifi over night? Toggle airplane mode. It may fix this

Yes, it has been on wifi all night since I got home and still is. Will try airplane mode now and report back.

Airplane mode didn't fix, but turning off wi-fi mode did.

I, too, cannot send email over wifi with my home provider. Works fine over network though. Pop-smtp.

Go daddy hosted exchange works Ok anywhere anyhow. Ssl pop-smtp.

    Strange...

I did? If you find a fix for the smtp wifi send problem, please share. (lol)

I don't always remember to turn wifi off at home when I try to respond to an email.

Could be an outgoing port issue. Ask your mail provider for a different outgoing port.

Yeah, been down that road already.

No love. Then again, it's Time Warner. That should splain it all.

I am quite astute with networking and it stuff. This one threw me against a wall.

Had an identical issue on wife's android with time Warner. Never fixed.

    Clearly them.

In some cases when an email is being integrated. The smtp connection is being denied by the mail server.

As a workaround, some email is being used with your mobile carrier smtp settings. The problem with this is the mobile smtp connection will only work when the phone is using the mobile network.

BlackBerry is aware of it and are working towards correcting issue with mail provider smtp.

Weird so I never had this problem. But now I'm having it with my gmail. I used to be able to send messages just fine.

Did gmail change anything since their system blew up earlier?

I have the same problem ever since the first software update for the BB Z10. Still having the problem......have tried everything. The weird part is sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.....Hopefully BB gets their act in gear and fixes it soon or this phone is going back

It appears to be fixed in the 10.1 software.

As for Gmail, the did have an issue earlier in the week but that's unrelated to the smtp being discussed here

Make sure you have the right outgoing port setting. Sometimes (example) the outgoing port will be set as default, 25 and will work over WiFi, but over cell service it needs to be TLS at 587. Check with your email provider for these settings, as I am just giving an example for your understanding.

Tried all that too. But again, I am dealing with time Warner...they are known for "issues " like this.

I take it that you are not on a BES.
