Hey guys, following some friend's advice, I have put a Vodafone SIM into my BlackBerry (which I usually use with another provider in Italy), and guess what? It has found a new FW version that I'm downloading (it weights 123MB). According to the people who tried it, it makes the device much more responsive, the browser in particular.

As soon as I'm done installing it (it's at 35% now) I will report my thoughts.

Try to put in a Vodafone SIM and check again. I was stuck on that same version too here in Italy. Then swapped the SIM card and as by magic the download begun!

I have the same for an unlocked handset from carphone warehouse. I was under the impression that software updates would be the same across all carriers. Obviously not.

After the update I'm happy to report that Browser got much snappier.

Later on once you've been using it a good while can you give us any idea of whether this build improves battery life please? I'd appreciate it if you could keep an eye on that. Thanks :-)

just check and had a 2MB update on Z10 on EE UK. with only 2MB not sure what it improves

I've got the feeling that the battery lasts much longer now

We've been reported that the download is available in Germany and the Netherlands too. Only precondition is that you're on Vodafone so it should be visible in all european Vodafone (except UK?!) networks.

no luck here, i have a sim free z10 with my voda contract sim but no updates available, still on 10.0.9.348

Same here.. It could be they are staging it to device serials / pins so as to allow systems to cope

Seriously, Blackberry is the only company that's ever made me so obsessed with updates.

Same here: I received my Z10 from London today (I live in Germany) and without a SIM card, there was no software update available.
Once I inserted my Vodafone Germany SIM, the software update 10.0.10.32 popped up. Size is 123MB.
I haven't finished updating yet but I hope the new software offers a possibility to turn off that dumb ambient light sensor. The display is way too dark for me (even in the brightest setting) and once I move the Z10 display under a lamp, the brightness cranks up and is just perfect. For me, the Z10 is useless in it's current state.

THe updates are same for all and not controlled by carrier. Maybe his device refreshed when he inserted another SIM. Maybe it's not particularly Vodafone behind it.

I have checked my phone and no updates, I am on 10.0.9.2372 and I am on an unlocked Z10 bought from Carphone warehouse and using a sim from the three network. It seems there are a few different versions floating around.
