I have an unlocked z10 stl100-3. I am using it on at&t and previously had the latest att official os. I upgraded to 10.1.0.1880 and have had some issues with my contacts and mobile hotspot. I am desperately trying to revert back to the official release. I tried restoring my device from the device which didn't change the os, I then tried using blackberry link to reload the os but it keeps updating me to 10.1.0.273 (.1762) instead. Is there anyway of getting my original os back? Thank you.

Run any autoloader, pull the battery out while writing.. you should see it blinking, and you can restore from there.

This issue is resolved with a step-by-step solution in a properly-named thread on the first page of threads in the Leaked/Beta OS forum. See:

Move this thread to Leaked/Beta OS forum?

I tried that as well and the 10.1.0.1762 gets loaded back on after I brick the device

After you soft brick your device go to www.blackberry.com/software from either Firefox or IE. That will than detect your device and load it with the most up to date official software for your carrier be it that is 10.1 or 10.0

Thanks Kris. I believe the current version supported by AT&T (and most other carriers around the world) is 10.1.0.273 so it may be difficult or impossible to get back to 10.0 builds. If a network supporting only 10.0.x can be found it might be possible to download the unbrick install, and push it into the device after removing the AT&T SIM, but as soon as the SIM goes back the network will push 10.1.0.273.

The official tools are intended to go back to the current, officially available OS for the specific carrier for one's device. This OS may be newer than what the device shipped with but should be better (emphasis on should). That said, I didn't think OS 10.1 has been released by any US carriers yet. This might be a good time to download official OS 10.0 debrick images for future archiving.

EDIT: Latest OS available for the Z10 from AT&T appears to be software release 10.0.9.348, which is not an OS 10.1 version.

I just want to point out that 10.1.0.273 should be the official 1720 released not the 1762. The 1762 exists in the form of a leak to STL100-2/3
What I would do is download a leaked autoloader, either with 10.0.10, or pre 10.1.0.1720 and then when it finishes flashing the OS, it will automatically update to the most recent carrier OS. Again, like I said at the beginning, the OS should be 1720, and no newer for carriers pushing 10.1. For US carriers, it should still be 10.0.10

Latest AT&T OS is actually 10.0.10.118 software

10.0.9.348 is found in sachup on the wrong server

Also OP if nothing else works for you I can download the latest AT&T files and make a autoloader of the official release for you

Still that's lower than OS 10.1. Still, this is useful. If anyone really needs to go back to OS 10.0.9.348, they can download the debrick images through SachUp and then create an autoloader to load the OS. To load 10.0.10.118, people can follow the soft-brick + full reload process.

I agree with this but would still suggest the soft-brick process and then full OS reload via BlackBerry Link or the official over-the-web software loader. This way you should get the latest OS on the first load rather than having to load a full software once and then having to do basically a full OS reload OTA.

True. On my computer though, once I start the over-the-web software loader, or use BB-link, internet craps out because I'm on wifi. It appears to be a wifi adaptor issue with the bb network driver/adaptor. I'm sure it's not a faulty network card, and I have intel 6230 wifi chipset. Once I kill the BB connecting software, it's fine again...... not sure why. Happens both on W7 and W8
So that's why if I need to reload to official, I use autoloader with the official debricks, or a lower OS, so it can update OTA

What kind of issues are you having with contacts and mobile hot spot? It might be a lot easier to troubleshoot these issues instead of downgrading.

I was going to point out that the official full OS loaders appear to have (cause?) network issues as a caveat as well. Yes, your solution is very good as well. Some people have had better experience in Firefox versus Internet Explorer or vice versa with the over-the-web loader.

Not sure if it is a direct cause. I will be using corded internet in this next coming month. I'll see if it is also affected.
I think it's because of how BB is using a network adapter to "map" the BB device that is causing problems.

Troubleshooting might be useful but could we not do it in this thread and rather in the thread specific to that leak?

We're creating enough duplicate topic threads already.

I have tried to brick it and restore the software via blackberry's site however, it still wants me to update to 10.1.0.273. Would someone be able to create an autoloader for me? The mobile hotspot gives me an error saying I need to add it to my wireless plan but I already have it and was able to use it fine before upgrading the os. There are also some bugs with the gps, it can never pinpoint my location and blackberry maps has trouble finding routes. I use the gps for work as it logs where I clock-in via the browser and for some reason it can never find my location anymore now that I upgraded to 10.1. There are also some bugs with the contacts such as when you go to phone and hit contacts rather than dialpad all of my contacts are not shown that are in my address book with phone numbers. Thanks again for your help.

I just upgraded to one of the leaked BB10.1.... , and it messed up with my phone. My Z10 was bought from Verizon and I currently live in Indonesia.

To downgrade to 10.0....., I just plug in my Z10 to Blackberry Link and press "reload software device", it then downloaded the 10.0.... version.

    Thanks be to God!
