This has dawned on me only today. I have a Z10, my employer has me on a Bold 9900. I've been playing with my Z10 so much, that I haven't used the 9900 for a few days, other than to check e-mails and calendar.

Today, I actually had to make a few calls and use the 9900 more extensively again.

I love my Z10, but I am finding what I am missing a little bit is the ability to one-hand the phone. The 9900 allows me to do EVERYthing with one hand and a thumb and the track pad. Even texting is more than do-able in a pinch with only my thumb and "palming" the 9900.

I just realized today that that is tough on a Z10.

WOnder if the Q will get one one-handing better than a Z10. That kinda makes me wonder if there would be a clever way to integrate a track pad into the Z10..... blasphemy? what do you all think?

I must say, the 9900 size DOES have its advantages sometimes.......along with the disadvantages of the small screen and crappy browser....

I found quite the opposite. I still use my 9700 and my z10 and I find that with word swiping etc it is easier for me to one hand the Z.

It probably has to do with hand size and dexterity. I one hand my Z10 with no problem. My sister on the other hand uses two. No pun intended.

In full disclosure, I am forced to admit I have always two-hand fondled EVERY BlackBerry phone (and PlayBook) I have ever owned . . .

How big are your hands man? Cuz I actually find myself "Palming" my phone majority of the time while typing with one hand. And I'm came from a 9900 plus the ability to 'flick' the words helps out a lot.

Well, I find that I am mistyping a lot...my thumb seems to not press exactly where it should or I want it to. Maybe a little more practice on my part is warranted.

I just find it wasier with the 9900 than with the Z10. Again, I have had bolds for 3-4 years, and a Z10 for two weeks. Certainly may be part of the problem. I'll force myself to start going one-handed and see if I get better at the typing/swiping.

I was just going to start a thread on this. I am already very used to the Z10 keyboard that I don't have any more desire to get a Q10 with the smaller screen. That is if I use two hands.

But the z10 is annoying to use one handed when composing emails and posts.

For example, the CB10 app has cancel and post at the top of the screen. If I'm using one hand to thumb type with my left hand I find I have to do a balancing maneuver to hit that post button. It is the same with composing email.

I'll keep plugging away at it. Again, had a Bold sized device for years, and a pearl flip before that.....This is a paradigm shift for me.

I have zero trouble one handing my Z10, infact I can type quite quickly one handed thanks to the flick typing, much faster than if it wasnt there. I do use 2 hands for most typing as its more natural and faster for me but for browsing and such 1 handed all the way

kinda where I am at. I can fuss thru with one thumb, but using two hands works much better for me still...

I one hand it but not too often. The top of the screen is too far for my thumb to reach the send button without some thumb yoga action.

I use it one hand a lot. The top is a bit far... but since almost everything is at the bottom on this OS... Its probably the best one hand phone out there!

I have some issues with pressing stuff on the far left of the screen (new tab especially) without pressing the three dots on Browser, but that's probably just my fat hands.

Funny thing, I am having difficulty using two hands on my Z10. Ever since I got my Z10, it was always on one hand. using two hands is just awkward for me. I came from using a curve 9360.

The Z10 is the first BlackBerry I have ever used mainly with one hand. I always had to use two hands when typing with my 9930.

I'm not saying the Z10 is better or worse for typing, but it is definitely more one handed for me.

initially awkward one handed, but FORCED myself to only use the one hand, getting better at it I must say.
now I'm trying to see if I can force myself to type without flicking, just to see if there's any difference in speed. I find that I get fascinated and obsessed with the flicking which sometimes slows things abit.
as so many of you here have pointed out, such a paradigm shift from our 9900!

I find I can only type on the Z in landscape, double thumbed. Aside from the other **** offs for me, I'm actually getting used to the landscape keyboard which I thought would not happen. First three days was hell. After that, things settled down gradually.

After some more time I'm finding that I actually use the device one handed more than I do 2. I find the flick typing actually works quite well for 1 handed scenarios. Longer stuff is more 2 handed still but thats mostly because its a longer thought and I'm more focused on it anyways.
