Is there any way that Google will actually build a native Maps app for the BB10 Users???

Anything is possible but there's been absolutely no hint of this from anyone, as far as I know. I think we have to assume the answer is no, until somebody who's in a position to know says otherwise.

It's about as likely as the chances that Apple will build Apple Maps for BlackBerry 10.

That's not right, cuz Apple never shares their apps to anybody but Google does!

I have to defend BB Maps somewhat. It actually seems to work better than the overpriced, outdated maps, system in my BMW. And if I connect the phone through Bluetooth audio, I get the turn-by-turn through my car's speakers. I wish it would display landscape and not just portrait. But overall, it's pretty good considering it's built-in to the cost of the phone.

The big issue with BB maps is the coverage. It covers just 1/10 of the Planet.
I live in Greece and when I open the application it is all white.
Only USA , western Europe and Thailand if I remember well.
    Regards

BlackBerry maps is fantastic... use it all of the time. but Google maps has a bit more info bits when it comes to stores etc on the street. so i use them both.

Email Google and ask them for native apps. That is the only thing they will pay attention to. Well that and when BlackBerry breaks 10% market share again.

Hopefully the 10.2 release in August which will upgrade the Android runtime to jelly bean will bring us a higher version of Google maps to side-load.

And no, you don't have to be a tech geek to side load.

It's also useless to me as all it offers is driving directions
Google maps is better then BlackBerry maps by far now. But if all you need is a basic, no frills map and you require turn by turn navigation while driving, then BlackBerry maps is right up there with Google and does the job admirably.
Just a shame I need more from my maps

What i have done regarding google maps is open up my browser, go to google maps and add it as a homescreen shortcut. Works perfectly fine and i dont have to worry about laggy android ports or sideloading it onto my device.

But saying that i use BB Maps quite a bit and its functional, gets me to where i need to be without much hassle when i first used it after getting the z10, i found it was a bit flakey but now it seems pretty solid. Hopefully they will bring more features and updates to it in the near future.

Luckiky for Indonesians, Indonesia's map is pretty decent too. With local intonation of road names for voice guidance to boot.

In fact BlackBerry Maps is the only one that comes with turn by turn navigation in Indonesia.

Google Maps 6.14.3 (or later) is available on this thread
    http://forums.crackberry.com/android...ng-z10-766594/

6.14 crashes when you go into Settings but other then that it works really well. I tried 6.2 (it doesn't crash when you go into settings) but I liked 6.14 better because you can cache larger map areas. Thats a big advantage for me since I travel so much
