I just did a complete fresh OTA update of my Z10 after successfully replacing my phone's digitizer. The phone was completely nuked clean originally (factory reset) and it took a long time to update from 10.2 to 10.3.1 (because of multiple updates) but I had zero problems. The phone is VERY fast now and responsive. I have downloaded a lot of apps from BB World too. I didn't have any data on it previously so I didn't lose anything since there was nothing on it to begin with.

I do have some advice for you and once you update the OS, go to BB World and download the updates for your apps and immediately reboot after updating them too. I did notice a couple of apps no longer download and install as they haven't been updated to 10.3.1 from 10.2.x (Magellan Compass is one and a Piano app was another).

So far, I'm quite liking this OS update. I am not a big fan of the new flat look icons though, but that's not a showstopper. I don't like the calendar display now either but hopefully that gets addressed in future...we'll see about that. But the OS itself is sweet!

When updating the OS's, the phone got really hot but cooled down when updated. Keep it plugged into a USB 3 charge port or a wall plug for the entire updating session.

Did OTA update on stl100-1 and it is really a new phone. Getting now +10 hours battery and all the features work flawlessly. As stated in previous post Important keep plugged in during complete process and not using phone. Did at night and when I woke up had a new phone. Yes do go to BBWorld and check for updates.

The only issue I had was the loss of my voice mail password but that seems to be a common problem and was easily solved.

I think a lot of the issues people have are caused by the OTA update. I would suggest doing the update yourself by downloading the files and following a simple guide. Guide is in my signature.

No, I'm not happy with it. If I could downgrade quickly, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The swipe typing is different - causes typos so often I've almost thrown my Z10 across from room. BlackBerry assistant doesn't find apps, the virtual keyboard disappears in mid-sentence often if I hit the bottom left corner lot the screen, comma then space is a problem, well, maybe all typing (see just now, before the word maybe?) is crap. It's so much work I'm considering dumping this phone. It is not working well.

I have an stl100-1 device. Before installing the new OS do a security wipe as some users reported problems after updating.

If BlackBerry expects users to wipe their phone before doing an update, I believe you will see thousands of wiped BlackBerrys on eBay for a song.... anyone who has ever worked with software understands how this should work. Even typing this has been a struggle - every sentence has generated illogical words as suggested text.

Official release is no different than leaks we had before - too many issues. See sticky threads. Many bugs never got fixed. Advice to use destructive Autoloader or Sachesi to update is just ridiculous. BlackBerry OTA update is unpredictable, from "almost no issues" to "my phone won't boot". Use at your own risk. I'm going to skip entirely this "new and exciting" update.
Agreed - I just wish I had skipped the update instead.

I am on a Shop BlackBerry Z10. I finally got the update using BB's suggestion and it has been a learning curve for sure. After 3 days I have only encountered improvements and UI refreshing, no other problems found. I understand that there has been a group of people that have had issues but they are in the minority. That said, there is some risk.

Personally, I like it the improvements they made over the little aggravations that the change has brought. I'll give it a 9 out of 10.

First week with the new OS was ok, battery was actually draining faster than before. Completely drained the battery a couple of times as I could not get to charger in time.

Two days ago, battery life has been amazing going from 4-6 hours to 24 hrs. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I 2nd buddysteady's request for instructions to find simple guide in Jaydee5799's signature.
I have a T-Mobile unlocked Z10 STL100-3 running software release 10.2.1.2156 and OS 10.2.1.2228. I watched this YouTube tutorial and guy makes upgrade sound pretty straight forward, but I'm still hesitate without investigating.

I see the Zed10's battery life as a negative. Since I got the back-up battery, I am very happy.

Z10 STL-3 updated via OTA but had 10.3.1 lower version on prior and my Z10 has been performing wonderful with an improved battery performance thus far (avg 12-16hrs based on med-hvy use). I did however drain the battery and did a full recharge once I had the update completed.
    On Bell Canada Network
Seems to be hit and miss but using the leaked version as linking from 1st page should give you a good solid start.

Really? And you don't see the difference in camera autofocus speed? It's slower and less accurate on every single 10.3.x build.

That's one person's opinion. Working fine for me. The current issues are not significant for me to roll back to 10.2.

Yes, backed up by over hundred threads with issues described in details. If you like your Dropbox (or Box, or OneDrive) files access 3 times slower, as an example only - enjoy the update!
Are there issues with the 10.3.1 update? Yes.

Is everyone experiencing those issues? No way to know for sure.

I'm just a bit tired of the doom & gloom "10.3.1 is the End of the World" posts, especially when the poster doesn't qualify it as their experience and/or feels no one should update because the poster had a bad experience.

    FWIW, my experience is:

    - great battery
    - great wi-fi signal
    - great typing
    - great word prediction
    - etc, etc, etc
    - yeah, not so thrilled with the Calendar re-do, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I realize it -IS- a major problem for some users, which is why I say folks have to decide for themselves.

Nope. 10.3.0 builds noticeably worse than 10.2 and 10.3.1 up to 1916 minor improvement, but 10.3.1.2267 just fine for me.

The improvements to the camera are great. Not as good as a Lumia but functionality wise, I prefer it over the in-house iPhone and Android ones we have. Still trying to figure out how to use the added video nugget.

This looks like leaks rather than official update (I noticed that files are hosted on file sharing sites).
I guess I can also update via BB Link. Do you think that's better than OTA?
This is the same OS as the released one.
