The way the USA carriers are bending BlackBerry over and nailing them is just pathetic protectionist BS!

There is no excuse to deny consumers the only logical choice to iToy and Android. I guess there is WP, but I just don't see it as an option at all.

I have heard some US BlackBerry users are buying a Rogers (Canadian carrier) SIM online and getting an official OS that way. (10.2.0.429 atm)

Can anyone who has done this speak up about their experience?

I might be willing to get my hands on some SIMs and mail them out if there is an interest.

When the official os comes out will it be just the Latest leak made official that you could install via software update? How is it going to be different from the latest leak?

Well,Not to be mean... but.. it will be OFFICIAL, not an UNOFFICIAL "leak".

Could be the same as the latest leak, say, 1925, with some carrier bloatware added. With an identical number, it is by definition the same as the leak, period, except for carrier add-ons. Could be a surprise version higher than 1925, but unlikely. If it's an earlier version, then use the 1925 leak. It is as solid and feature filled as you're going to get before 10.2.2 or 10.3 or whatever they're working on.

Being patient is a must for BlackBerry owners. I thought that after having the phone for a year now the OS would be further ahead than it is. Not having full landscape support is ridiculous among a lengthy list of missing features we were told were coming. I do like my BlackBerry only because I can tweak it with leaks and side loads, but the average consumer is still left in the dark when it comes to leading edge tech.

We've had 3-4 major updates in 12 months (I'm including 10.2.1) when bb10 was released in Feb last year. Is that really slow compared to other OSs and phones? I'm honestly asking. As I don't keep with other phones, software or hardware.

I am surprised that they still have not implemented Landscape Mode for the HomeScreen. It just makes the device look lame.

Why would sales people know anything about an os release? Their job is to sell phones and contracts, nothing more.

This question could probably be better answered in the BB10 apps subforum, as it's not relevant to the topic of the OP.

    Sorry what I mentioned was

Unlike most users I am not excited by the official release of 10.2.1 because I'd lose my app data from apps installed outside bb world and most likely there wouldn't be a huge improvement from the current leak.

Still not really relevant to the topic of the thread, so I don't understand the purpose of posting in this thread unless you're interested in discussing the op's topic.

Honestly both android and ios updates are much better than BlackBerry's. They come with more features and better bug fixes then BlackBerry has given in the last year. The reason BlackBerry has had 3 updates is because they are catching up and what bb10 launched with was very poor filled with bugs and missing standard features. Even after a year and 4 updates, we are still missing much of what made bbos great. We're missing options and features and even things like mms dumbing down picture quality without choice. BlackBerry has a ways to go still and if they don't push updates every few months they will be dead in the water as both android and ios are both progressing faster.
