My Z10 has had issues with overheating and quick power drains since I have had it, 5 months. Some days being worse than others. Thanks to Peter (Battery Guru) and bgregory I can now turn my attention away from the battery being the culprit.

On bgregory's advice I did a security wipe. With all apps and setup removed the battery consumption improved dramatically. I then started to add in various apps and accounts hoping to find the culprit. I began by adding a couple of gmail accounts and a few apps, everything was fantastic battery was going from 4-6 hours to 30 hrs of life.

I did notice phone calls really sucked the power (-1.85 W) and raised the temp to @10C to 35 C after a 2 min call but as this was still less than the 45 C it was hitting before I could live with it.

I just added our corporate Office 365 account (accepted default setting including push) and suddenly the battery is draining 6 times faster when idle in a blackberry pouch than before the account was added. I changed this account to manual sync and the power consumption dropped back to the level before the account was added.

Is anyone else experiencing this with their Office 365 account. Yes I will end up setting a sync intervals somewhere in the middle but I am hearing conflicting reports that you shouldn't need to.

I'm not sure it's a good to take advice from someone who's name starts with "bgr".

My best guess would be that the Office 365 account was still in the process of syncing all your emails which resulted in battery drain. Our emails are being migrated to Office 365 as I type. I will have to come back to you with solid findings within a few hours.

Please let me know how it goes. I had set it to 30 days and the sync looked complete. It was over 3 hours.

I will reset it back to push and let it run a little longer to continue the test.

First day on Office356, battery draining quickly. And Temperature reaching 40 degrees Celsius. I don't have that much in my mailbox... 150mb worth. It seems everything has settled.

Thanks Prince. Mine has also settled but at times it seems to get "locked in" to some process until the battery drains completely. Then after a recharge it is back to running cool with great battery life. Just wish I knew what it is getting hung up on.
