I have seen a post on CB where someone put a picture of the OEM BlackBerry headphones with a comment that they are still the real deal. Then I read reviews where some people note that not all BlackBerry accessories are compatible with all phones.

What's your experience with OEM BlackBerry HD headphones?

Pretty much any headphone will work with the Z10 as it uses standards (unlike Apple that has their own definitions and settings for the jack).

I don't think apple uses different jacks. It's a universal jack with microphone and sound.

Search around here in the CB forums, you'll see plenty of threads with complaining they can't use their iOS headphones with BB devices.

I'm no expert, but something in those buds don't quite mix.

I took the Apple volume clicker/mike control module apart when my coworker stepped on one of the ear buds. There is a logic board there with a couple of chips sitting on it. The earphones must be just an extension of the idevice's hardware. I cannot imagine Apple not locking up any of their hardware.

I use the ear buds that came with my iPhone 5 on my Z10 all the time, they work great, including the volume control, now that I think about it I never tried the mic( assume it's there?)

I tried headphones from older Blackberries and they did not work. The opening was bigger than the stem of the headphone. The part number was HDW-12420-001. It did make contact, but the connection fell out.

i've used the headphones from my iphone4 for a couple of calls and they worked on my Z10.adjusted the volume, and it you hit the center button,it mutes the call.i think you have to hold it down to end the call,i'd use the blackberry ones that came with the Z10,but the iphone ones fell better in my ears.and voice control also works if you hold down the center button to.
