Hi all, new to BlackBerry z10. Loving the phone and will be sticking with BlackBerry for some time.

I do have a slight issues with notifications as I scroll down from the top then click notifications, I change from Normal (which usually rings etc) to Silent. However, it is still ringing etc while in meetings. Why is it doing this? Any ideas would be great, thanks.

Next meeting, pull down, click settings, click 3rd one down which is Notifications, Click mode and turn All Sounds off.

Hi there, thanks. That seems ok, however, might be me being stupid here but what's the difference with that and Silent?

Also, do I have to go through settings opposed to straight to Notifications?

    Thanks again.

Nope you aren't being stupid. The only difference is the LED. What OS version is you Z10 on? I know the older OS version has many issues.

Oh and to change the setting like the other person mentioned you can access that via the notifications like you normally do, however this is not an "all sounds off" option it is "all alerts off". Like I say this is only for the LED to be off.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. It says I am on the latest version 10.1.0.273 is this correct?

Ok so that make sense I will try and do that to see if this works ok.

    Thank you.

Sounds like you have changed the settings in your "silent" profile. Have you checked them?

That's what it sounds like but when I put mine on silent I can change only the LED. All settings within the phone, email, etc do not matter anymore because the main sound is locked to off.

Shibby080, who is your carrier? I am assuming you have checked to see if there is any software updates available. I think 10.1.0.273 is an older OS version that may have some bugs. Mine is 10.1.0.2354 and this seems to be what most blackberry users say is the most stable OS without many issues. Is this your Z10 or your companies? The reason I ask is if you are comfortable you could always load .2354 on your Z10 and this may help with the issue. I'm not sure how technical savvy you are.

It's my Z10 and I on on O2 within the UK. It says I am on the latest software already so not sure how I would get this version you are referring to?

If you really want to update it here is where you will find the info. I used the Sachibar/nondestructive method.

At least in 10.1 changing of the profile isn't supported yet, it is all fixed.

Wife had a similar problem not realizing the profile and other settings don't communicate well (best way I can think to explain it).

For example go into phone calls only, and turn on something you don't have on in normal, go back to normal and it is still on. The profiles can override the individual settings. currently, but the individual settings can't (or shouldn't) override the profile and aren't saved to a specific profile.

Another fix too is if you go into the "Main Volume" in settings, you can turn off "Always Adjust Media Volume" this allows you to silence your notification volume.

How does that work then mate? Doesn't this just impact things when you are playing media, music etc?

No. When this is done your volume keys control your notification volume unless you have some type of media playing then they will adjust media volume.
