    reason is this os update was not pushed out by carier and now i cant edit the apn settings so my data service can work any suggestions?

    We're u able to change the apn settings previously? I have an unlocked with a t mobile sim in the us but the apn are grayed out.

    never checked just got the phone and wanted to have the latest os at first

    If it is an update not pushed by your carrier it will only have the version set by your carrier. MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFOREHAND.

    A factory reset only discards all user initiated changes (options, apps, files, etc.), but it doesn't change the core operating system. at least that's how all previous BlackBerrys were.

    I'm interested to know how to downgrade as well. I installed a leak on my wife's phone because she could receive but not send text messages. the leak did not fix the issue, so now I have to downgrade in order to call stupid VZW support...

    Just turn the phone off and plug to BB Link. It will give you the option to restore and will download whatever is laterst for you carrier.
