i�m running OS 10.1.0.273 and i have this problem also.
Notification are set to normal, but still no sound at all.
I tried to restart the phone but everything is the same.

This is freakin me out.
Any solution please let us know.

Pull down the settings, tap notifications, select the normal profile if not already selected. Make sure the sound tab is on. Go down and manually check each thing like phone, email etc.

remove back cover nd jus press near speaker area while playing any music or video nd done u will hear sound..... .

Yeah, the problem is that you cannot select "NORMAL", that option is not there otherwise this would not have been a big problem.

Several resets including; power button for 10 seconds, 3 button salute for 10 seconds and, battery removal... still no sound and no 'NORMAL' option for 'Notifications'.

"You are quite correct. remove rear cover (do not remove battery) and below where battery contacts are I found 4 square holes and using a pen I gently pushed down into each hole and my sound came back. It seems it could be a hardware problem IE a �dry joint� in electronics or in laymens language a loose connection. If the sound again disappears i will open phone and find the problem myself because the first time it happened I sent it in for repair and it lasted for a few months. I reckon they did the same. I have my a problem in my blackberry z10 mobile phone when it suddenly lost the notification sound, like for example a key pad touch sound, and text message sound. I try to check it using the BBVE test it has passed the check except for the audio. I try to apply all those comments posted in this forum but it were not work. My BBMZ10 audio still not working. How to fix this kind of problem to in order to restore my BBMZ10 audio?

I had the sudden loss of sound on my Z10, which I thought first may be settings but I went through everything, then did the battery removal, restart, etc. nothing worked.
Finally after reading this suggestion, I removed the back battery cover, and with a pen I tapped the back of the bottom (the speaker is at the bottom of the phone although the part you listen to when you're on the phone is at the top). Voila! - it works again! (relief -- I don't need to go and buy a new phone).

That was it! Just opened the back cover and touched the area adjacent to the speaker. Mystified but satisfied.
