I bought a used Verizon unlocked z10 and when we insert the new sim card the phone does not detect it. The sim card works well in my iphone. is there a fix for this problem somewhere. not sure about what to do?

Since your profile says SaskTel, I'm going to assume this is a SaskTel SIM card you're trying.

Looks like SaskTel does not have a GSM (2G) network, and that would by why the Verizon Z10 won't work. This model does not have any North American GSM carriers' UMTS (3G/HSPA+) or LTE bands.

An STL100-3 will get you up to LTE on this carrier.

On SaskTel? No. On Rogers, yes--but only if they have a 2G network around you. Same for other carriers with GSM 2G networks.
