can anyone help me with this issue, I cannot get bbm or blackberry protect to work on my z10.
I get the app store no problem, but it seems the rest of the blackberry services are not working.
Any ideas is much appreicated.

do you have a blackberry data plan ?
do you have the 4 wee dots in the shape of a square/diamond on the top right corner of your screen beside the signal icon ( this indicates you are connected to blackberry for BBM )
these phones will work without a blackberry data plan, but their will be some items that wont work, like BBM

Need more info, what exactly is not working what OS are u on etc.

You will see the blackberry square beside the signal strength icon .

I do have a data plan, but do not see the blackberry square .I can connect to app world, and I can browse the web, both on cellular data and wifi.

Have u rebooted? Sometimes connection is lost

Has it ever been working?
Do you have a blackberry id?
To re boot your phone hold the both up and down volume buttons together, you will here the phone take a screen shot, keep your fingers on the buttons then the phone will start to shut down, you can release the buttons and phone will re boot.

I rebooted, reloaded the os, updated the os. It never worked as far as I can tell, I did get the phone used.

does anyone know if bbm and blackberry protect are services that may be barred from a phone? I do have access to app world. I just want to say again that I did get this phone used, so I am only left to question the legitimacy of the device at this point.

I had this same thing happen to my wife's z10 right after loading 10.2.1.1055 (l)OS. My z10 worked like a champ, but her Protect and BBM stopped after restoring her info. Tried doing it without the settings and still no joy. Please let me know if you find a fix for this. No BBM with my honey is a drag. Texting just isn't the same.
