It's worse and so common. I prefer swiping down than towards the sides.

Yeah I don't think anyone have ever complained when a phone company adds more features and having 2 different types of calls screens would be a sweet feature also if the left a door open and we could add our own custom call screens that would be amazing

I can't tell you how many times a new owner would create a post about having trouble answering the Z10 because they thought they were supposed to just swipe down over the arrows themselves rather than drag the bar just over the arrows to either answer or ignore call.

The new way is far more intuitive both in motion and in instruction. The ring/vibrate can also be silenced by touching any other part of the screen. I also agree that the new screen is far more elegant rather than take up the whole screen. Phones are usually held from the bottom, not middle.

Never got the muscle memory adapted to old way...dunno why tho, as it was an easy movement. However, am still waiting for a call on new system......:-(

OK guys. For the record, I like the old way, more distinctive. But I had seem lots of people having difficulty with the old way trying to swipe to the side, and basically no one having difficulty with the new way. I hate to say it but receiving a call is very stressful when you cannot answer it!

That's it.. my thought after all this discussion.

Minimal movement also means less likelihood of accidentally swiping the phone out of your hand, particularly when ignoring a call which required more hand adjustment to drag the bar from the middle to the top.

Strange, I thought with the new way I was just supposed to swipe over the arrows rather than drag the grey dot sideways.

While I agree that it looked cooler, it required (for me, at least) a larger thumb motion, and ergonomics is a game of microns. I personally prefer the new call screen.

Newer way is better. However BlackBerry can surely do to provide options to easy switch between new or old method. Both design ofcourse patented by BlackBerry.
This will make happy some customers who does not want to accept good change quickly.

So I guess the on screen arrows and the words "swipe up to ignore" and "swipe down to answer " were to difficult?

Yep. Must be stressful to figure that out......

The new way seems to be better, there were occasions when I'd swipe up our down and didn't get the swipe right. Now I get It right every time.

Had my Z10 a year now and must say the new way is much better. The old swipe down to answer was always hit and miss for me, so like the new way 100% better.

The previous one was much better and also matched the screen once the call is connected.
I would love to have the old one back.

I have just cut off a friend expecting a tap on the green phone icon to accept the call.
I looked at the centre circle and wondered what the hell is that supposed to mean. I like my Z10 it's my first BlackBerry phone coming from 3 PlayBooks I thought I had mastered the swipe technique. I wish BlackBerry would provide a video for such a major update as this it might save acres of wasted questions in the forums..

Ok. Bottom line. If someone can write an app to put the old answer screen back with new features of the new one (ie. Busy reply) thrown in , I am happy to pay for it

If we just settle and we say we will never get it. Back we won't get it but if we rise up and demand it they might put it as an option so we shouldn't just stop voicing our opinions. There is no reason they can't make it. An options it will take them maybe a couple of hours to put it back it not even. We all need to voice our opinions so companies like this don't choose what we want but so we tell them what we want. So voice your opinion and be heard make a difference I know I am
