    Hey CB Fam!

As a long term BlackBerry owner, my main opposition to getting an iPhone or an Android device has always been "I need a keyboard. I will never get an all touch screen phone!" However, the hype of the Z10 and desire to support BlackBerry get back in the game, I decided to make the switch from my Bold 9900.

Honestly, 3 months later and I haven't looked back. I actually think I can type faster on the Z10 than my Bold 9900 but fast forward to today and the Q10 release and I was super excited to check it out and see if I could go back to a physical keyboard.......Nope!

After playing around with a Rep's device, I will admit that it's a nice looking phone that feels great in hand but the screen is just too small for me now and the swiping gestures seem stunted if that makes any sense. I know the Q10 is a niche phone and will hopefully sell like hot cakes but I'm definitely glad I gave the Z10 a chance.

I wonder how many other dedicated keyboard users made the switch and are happy with it??

Just got my Z10 today and, although I'm a long-time die-hard physical keyboard user, like the OP, I have found the virtual keyboard of the Z10 slick and awesome. I didn't think I would make that switch as well.

So much for holding out for the Q10...

To be honest although the z10 keyboard is far superior to any other touch screen keyboard I've used, I still find it tedious to type out long messages on it. I might switch to a q10

Interesting. I tend to agree with everything OP describes right down to waiting for newest keyboard device but not being able to hold my breath long enough so jumped on the Z.

The most tedious problem (over the long run) with the flat- touch Z keyboard has to do more with learning the idiosyncrasies and logic of the auto speller rather than its different new feel. Also, not sure how many will want to sacrifice the larger screen once they've compared the Z to the Q...

I tend to be with you on this one. A few sentences is fine but I still do miss the physical keyboard for longer messages. The major benefit to the Z10 and typing is the one handed typing. Can't be beat

I think the Z keyboard seriously closes the usability gap between virtual and physical keyboards (and it gets noticeably better with 10.1). For many users, the Q will still be the only way to go, but I suspect that there are many users like the OP who have decided that the Z works for them just fine.

I want to play with the Q10 to see if I miss the QWERTY keyboard that much. I am very happy with my Z10, not sure if I want to sacrifice screen size for physical keyboard.

After the typing experience on the 9860, I was looking forward to going back to a PKB, but I just couldn't wait any longer, and I have no regrets.

have always struggled with touch screen keyboards (android, windows phone etc) but the z10 is just fantastic and the more you use it the better it gets, had a bold 9900 before my z10 and i can tell ya the bold 9900 went straight on ebay no contest!!!! :-)

Diehard keyboard user here too and jumped on the Z10 from the 9900. Not liking it as much as I wish and might swap it out for the Q when it gets here. Some of my dislike is the case I'm using but I took it off fro a few days last week and still wasn't as happy as I would like to be. Not sure how the Q will compare to the 9900 but we will see once it gets out here
