I love it. I'm actually amazed that such a fantastic player came out so early after bb10 launch with so few bugs. Feature wise it flies circles around the BlackBerry player.

The UI is not bad like some say. It just doesn't make use of bb10 cascades at all. It is busy alright with so many extra features available.


Don't get me wrong. The original BlackBerry player is great. But Neutron is just up there in another league.

What's the point of using this app then if it's a battery killer? When I listen to music I am normally on the move you know. Guess I will wait for future updates.

While I don't have the app on my z10, I use it heavily on my PB because I've got a big library of songs loaded on there.

Way, way better than the stock PB music player.

This is a great app for the z10. I only use this to listen to anything music related. You really do hear the difference in sound quality right away. But there is one down side for me and no its not the cost, but a battery killer. It's nowhere near as efficient as the native player. With that being said, I really do love the sound quality. I think the Dev should work on making it a little more battery friendly in the next patch

It has options to reduce the amount of processing it does to save battery (in addition to its battery saver mode). You may lose some sound fidelity depending on what you change. Also, the options require some knowledge of sound processing to know what you can change yet keep good sound reproduction.

Even after modifying some of the settings, it still sounds better than the stock player.

that dev is very focused on making his music player work efficiently for every platform he supports; i took a look on the forum for neutron player and he fixed a music folder scanning problem unique to bb10 within a month (he had to wait for his LE z10 to arrive or itd probably have been fixed sooner as he fixed it in the simulators) after only 3 users requested it. usually loads of people have to hound a dev for something to be seen as a problem and fixed

Just have a couple questions before taking the plunge!

Does it have landscape mode? I want to use it in the car but the stock app doesn't support it.

Also, is it possible to have it on battery saver mode when not connected to the charger and running full when connected to a power source?

And it does play. AC3 5.1 en coding music as well. It is treat to ears.
