The default was on 4g and I have changed it to 3g
I am on a 3g data plan.
Will this help with battery consumption?

If understand correctly and I think I do, your data plan with your carrier is 3GB, not 3G, meaning you can use up to 3GB of data before being charged extra for the additional data. The 3G/4G setting on the phone refers to the network being either 3G/4G or LTE. That being said, if you're in an area with poor 4G reception switching to 3G will save battery. Hope that clears it up for you.

No my data plan is 1gb a month but the network plan is 3g, o2 do offer 4g however I haven't switched to it so I thought I might as well change my setting to 3g otherwise the phone is probably constantly looking to connect to a 4g network when my sim is only 3g.
Cheers for your reply.

Me too would like to know if there is a significant battery save should we opted for 3G instead.
