I think the z10 is a wonderful device but the lack of apps is the only thing keeping me from it. All the people saying we don't need this app we don't need that app just use mobile browser are the real trolls in these threads, the idea of not needing apps was said once right before blackberry fell from the top spot. Point is let's not let history repeat itself it's not the point if you use apps or not its the option of having it.

I guess its just me, but i don't get this preoccupation with NetFlix. Why would anybody really care about NetFlix on a 4.5 inch screen? does anyone really watch a full length movie on a phone?

I use NetFlix, but i watch it on my 60" plasma. 4.5 inch screens are for reading the news and looking at the occasional picture. Nice as the Z10 display is, they leave a bit to be desired for any video longer than about 5 minutes.

Not to mention lugging and plugging in that 60" plasma to a hotel TV. Very awkward.

They haven't officially stated that they will "Never" support BB10. Even if they had they can always change their tune if and only if BB10 devices sell well. He is just trying to stir up the pot. Ignore him.

"We have no current plans for a BlackBerry app" != "We will NEVER support BB10".

It's all about sales. If BB10 devices sell well, they WILL support BB10. They support Windows Phones and they only have about 3.2% subscriber market share in the US. The first BB10 device in US was just released at the end of March, give it time.

Give it time? This is a group of people that, for the most part, had a conniption about the long startup time of the PB, me included at times. Personally I had a Netflix account and canceled because I just didn't watch in on the laptop or 47" TV, doubt I'd use it on the PB or Z10 either if it were available.
We can speculate all we want as to who's fault it is but it really doesn't matter either way. How many email and boycott campaigns were started for the PB? Did any of them help? There are other options to Netflix why not use them?
Maybe I just don't understand the what makes Netflix so appealing.

Since BB World was down, I decided to attempt sideloading some apps (even though I had no interest in it before) and Netflix was the first I tried. I still have an account so I figured why not.

To my surprise, it's actually not that bad at all. Browsing the selections is a slow and completely laggy experience, but the videos play with no problem at all. I can live without a native app, but I'm all for it either way.

Clearly, Netflix isn't practicing what it preaches, if they're claiming that BB10 isn't worth the effort but Chromebooks and WP8 are.

I don't really care for a native. I do think support via the Z10 browser would be more reasonable. However, if they did because of consumer demand that would be awesome. People always talk about world not needing to have 1000000000000000 apps just the right ones and if Netflix was there that would be awesome. As far as watching movies on a small phone screen being not a good enough reason to bring Netflix. I assume you have never been on deployment where your smartphone is your only source of entertainment and is loaded with music,movies,porn. In the downtime you have while laying down to get the few hours of sleep having a small screen with movies on it is awesome.

Personally, if Netflix were to create an app or open up use through the web browser, I'd consider opening up an account with them... once their Canadian content becomes more comparable to their US content... I watch a couple movies a month as it is, and renting through other services adds up to about the same $8 per month. I'd rather stream it if I could while on Wi-Fi.

For my own self, without Netflix I'm spending just a touch more in renting from the BlackBerry video store on my playbook. But that's just me. I do understand that in the USA, the content is significantly better, and it is a great way to keep young children entertained while out and about, but for me it's just not worth the mental energy to worry about it. Not yet, anyway.
