They're all ok with minor differences in coverage. I'm on O2 but TMOBILE /Orange is ok. Tesco is cheap and uses the O2 network. Vodafone is nothing to grumble about either. GiffGaff is cheap and uses the O2 network. The only one to avoid is 3 as they're notoriously dodgy. GiffGaff needs to be ordered online but you can pick up a Tesco one in any of their shops. EE offers 4G but may not be compatible with your handset.

The coverage differences are far from minor. Outside of the cities O2 and Vodafone beat Orange and Tmobile handily, especially in Scotland. Don't even think about Three.

Best by far is 3UK pay as you go there Internet services are mega fast and very reasonable prices.

My wife is on 3 UK and her data speeds are way faster than mine.

It does depend where you're going. I'm on the south east coast and they're all ok except for 3. If you're in London, you can't go wrong with any of them.

I'm going to London and need just data for bbm (voice/video), Skype...looking for good service and lots of data, no voice or txt. what would be my best choice? Do some carriers limit the data used per day?

I think you get better deals going to the likes of carphone warewhouse and the like, the independent shops. Virgins unlimited data is/was 90gb a month on the SIM I bought

Probably 3 in that case. They offer really good data deals.
They're good in the cities http://forums.crackberry.com/e?link=...token=sVrMC2f8 they seem to have good rates on calls and data is advertised at just 1p per Mb.

Oh the 15 is pay monthly not pay as you go. The 15 pay as you go gives 3GB.

It is a contract, but only a 30 day contract so you pay for 30 days then cancel the direct debit. It's a rolling contract that renews every 30 days if you want it to, if not then just cancel. You are not obliged to stay with them for more than that.

When I was in the US earlier this year, I used my STL100-2 on Tmo no problem. TMOBILE in the USA has the STL 100-3 so I assume that the reverse is true although not necessarily.

Can anyone comment on 3UK reception in the UK? Is it usually 3G or edge? I want to be able to make bbm voice and video calls.

I believe 3 network offer a 3+G, faster than 3G, not as fast as 4 G, have a look in their Web site for more info
