I need a little help. I have a work phone but it does not have BES. The company I work for does business for another company that does have BES. I have email through this other company and to get to my email from that company I need BES on my phone. I have a STL100-4 on VERIZON with 10.2.1.537.

I'm fairly sure the host would need to activate your device on their BES network and install their IT policy to do what you want. This isn't something a user can do alone, if I recall.

From my understanding, all of the important things are done server-side, not client-side.

You need to call verizon and get a BES plan. And that's it. That's the advantage of BB, it comes out of the box ready.

Go into accounts and setup a work account.
    Need BES on a Z10.-img_20140306_135809.png

You will need a password and username from the IT department.

    BES plan advise is incorrect.

All you have to do is to add an email account using the data you receive from the BES admin.

That other company's BES would need to be BES10 or 12 for your Z10 to work. You don't need a special data plan. Otherwise just setup Exchange Active Sync, but there will not be a work side and personal side.

Why not ask the company your working for or with these questions? If you're trying to gain access without company approval it ain't gonna happen and we surely ain't gonna assist you.

    Yes he is correct bobshine.

My phone is on a bes 10 server and I don't have any special plans.

And the other guy is correct you should be asking these questions to the company it staff, since they have to create and activate the account for you.
