    Hi,

I noticed since the last few days that my Z10 shuts down when it hits the 80% mark on the battery usage. I remember that I've seen a thread about a Z10 turning of at 30% but cannot find it anymore.

Is there a solution to this?

    Thanks!

Try a soft reset first. If it is a software issue then it should correct it.

After is is corrected make sure to reset the battery by running it down and then charging to 100%

And how do I apply the soft reset? by holding the volume up and down?

I'm doing a security wipe right now...

Soft reset with holding the power button then hit restart. Up and down is for hard reset

Hmmmm, then I already did that a few times...

Hopefully the reset does it's job on the battery config...

In addition; after the security wipe, I'm on 78%... Never been that happy for a de-charge.... Hopefully it did the trick... :S

    That is a normal restart...

Soft reset and hold the power button until it restarts.

Issue so far resolved, after doing a full manually setup again the battery drains a little more but I'm now below the 80% mark and still able to operate the device.

So after reinstalling a few times, my battery does now only say that there is 0% of charge, but still manages to last an hour and more without the charger connected... So that's quite odd to see, but gives me the thought that the battery is still keeping it's charge but the OS doesn't recognize the lasting charge...

    any ideas?

I had the same problem turning off at 30 % battery level and was lucky to finally fix it yesterday. Search the forum phone turns off at 20% and read through. If you can't find it, here is what I did.
I let the battery to dry all the way down.
Removed the battery, sim and SD card.
    Waited 2 hours
    Put everything back together again
Plugged it on the charger with it mounted on the wall outlet.
Held the power button for 10 seconds
And lastly a plugged the charger to the wall power outlet and let it charge fully without playing with it. That's it
Now am glad to see the red empty battery and all the warnings when my battery is getting low.
Hope it works out for you, I know how frustrating it is

Well it runs again after leaving out the battery for about 30 minutes...

But I'm afraid that it again won't last past the 80% mark...

So yesterday I experienced the battery issue again and now took up mudy's advice... hopefully it brings something and otherwise I have to live with it keeping in mind to charge it before it hits the 79% mark...

So before I pulled out my battery it was on 93%... (forgot to take a screenshot)

Now I took my chance to see what happens... I did a battery pull 45 minutes ago and this is the result...

I am sure it will work. I was skeptical at first and after I was tired of the frustration I tried it and it worked. Until now have not gotten used to the fact that my battery will go down to zero. I have to watch to believe that it's actually fixed. Good luck with it and hope it works out.

So I went on playing with it and came down at 53%...

    ...did a battery pull...

    ...waited 45 minutes...

So now I really hope that the issue is terminated. If so, I will post an exact 'tutorial' how to get the battery back to life...

Now it's getting even more bizarre... yesterday night I pulled the battery before going to sleep and this morning it mentioned 26% of charge. On my way to work I noticed that the Bluetooth light on the navigation was not responding, so I checked the Z10, dead!

After I layed it down to charge it said, after it booted again, 26% of charge. I directly pulled the battery again... after 45 minutes...

My Z10 is shutting down at 80%-img_00000180.png

And this without charging for 28 hours... My battery is definitely a woman, doesn't know what it wants...

    I now went to the supportforums on BlackBerry.com, and found this reply;

"The on-device battery meter is off sync with the actual battery charge. Connect to your OEM wall outlet battery charger and while still connected and powered on, remove the battery a minute to reboot. After reboot leave to fully charge to 100%."
I tried it and for so far it worked out for me...

I'm experiencing now a 'normal' drain of the battery...
