Today I was traveling by public transport and dropped my Z10 on the road from the running vehicle. I managed to stop the vehicle about 300 metres after the phone was dropped. I ran back for the phone. The traffic was bumper to bumper and moving at around 30 kmph. As I was approaching the phone in the middle of the road, I saw a car's front wheel run over my phone. I ran and picked it up. The scratch guard was crumbled and I was sure th phone is broken and beyond repair now.

But the phone seemed not to have lost form or shape.

I rushed back with the phone in my hand and got back into the vehicle. Immediately switched the phone off, removed the back cover and the battery, waited a while, reinserted the battery, started the phone.

Voila, it started beautifully and I checked all functions. All working well. The phone is scratchless. Lost the scratch guard damaged.

Even the flimsy rubber cover that was on the phone was undamaged.

Any such experiences BlackBerry users.

So much for the strength of the Z10.

I have dropped my Z10 on concrete and it is fine. My wife ran over her curve 8900 with a dodge ram and it still works today. I think they are built to last.

Updated 14 Nov. Okay well make that dropped on the concrete 2 times. Still working great just another small notch in the plastic. Haha

I dropped my gf's z10 down a couple of concrete stairs at a train station trying to get it out of my back pocket. Fortunately, it hit the corners. A bit of minor damage there but all good. Got her a case and it hides the damaged corner and some of the side nicely

Yeah when my curve got water damaged and the track pad became unresponsive, I threw it against the wall and reversed a Toyota over it... worked fine after I rebooted a week later... BlackBerry is the new Nokia (or rather, the old brick-like ones)

a car got hit by my z10 as it ran off my dashboard while I swerved to avoid an iphone user mesmerised with his retina display and walked right into the lane. when I retrived my phone I apologized to the lady whose car got hit with my phone and no real damage to the car.

I checked the phone later it wasn't working but I was able to flash it with an autoloader. this was many months ago....
