I own both a Telus & Verizon Z10. However while I am in Canada my Verizon Z10 does not pick up a 4G signal. It's always on 3G. Yet my Telus Z10 is always on 4G or H.

Any ideas?

It's a network thing. Telus and all other Canadian carriers are on GSM now (after phasing out their CDMA networks), while Verizon is still holding on to CDMA with a death grip. However, CDMA phones have some limited GSM capability to make them not entirely useless when outside CDMA coverage.

I was just in Toronto this past week with both a VZW Z10 and Q10. They only showed 3G, but boy was it much faster than I remember 3G on my 9850,9900, etc. In three days, my wife and myself burned through five 100MB $25 "global data packs" (kept checking in on our cat's IP cams.......)

Made me miss the old VZW $69 unlimited global data days...

Say that again. And I doubt that they lost money even with that cheap rate. Three of us in Europe used about 3.5gigs of data over 3 weeks on email, browser lookups, translations, etc and that $69 was pro rated, so I was only charged a portion of that for 3 weeks. And it really was only $39 extra as the base plan of about $30 was suspended. Now I would be bankrupt!
