I'm confused. Your earpiece speaker is very muted and barely puts out any sound but yet you say it works fine? What other applications does the earpiece speaker use?

Maybe try the headphone audio boost toggle?

Is it just with one particular person?

I'm having the same problem. I could hear my old crappy Samsung pushing the lawnmower. I can't hear my Z10 message tone when it's laying on my chest watching and vibrate is pretty weak too. I loaded a high volume call ringtone which helps a little, but I can' get a new message tone to work. Guess I'm going to take it back. No point in having a phone I can't hear.

Put it on vibrate. Sometimes you can feel it rather than hear it

Try changing the call audio settings to treble boost see if this helps you can access it by swiping down from the top of the screen and then click settings. This is done from the phone application

That's a new screen. What version are you running? I don't have that audio boost facility for some reason.

I promise you mine is different - I even tried plugging in a pair of headphones. I haven't downloaded the 10.1 MR yet cos I want to keep all of my texts still. Some good memories in them. Sad I know. Z10STL100-2/10.1.0.1720
