I'm a little confused. I have a 32GB memory card in my device. Are you saying your device will not read an SDCard over 4GB or a file over 4GB?

He definitely means the latter. Everyone has the same problem with standard USB thumb drives. No matter how much space you have, if it's a FAT32 device it can't read an individual file that exceeds 4 GB.

I would suggest converting to a lower resolution, or downloading iPod/Zune/PSP-specific movies (no shortage of those) which are kind of low res but also tend to be under 1 GB in size.

Try formatting your card to the ex fat format. It allows bigger file sizes under the fat format.

Right, save the items from your card to your PC, and then format the card for NTFS and copy the items back. Then try it...

If the sd card is formatted exfat or NTFS, does the Z10 support it? I was under the impression exFat and NTFS were not supported (seeing as they're proprietary/licensed File Systems)

If I put a 64 gb card into my z10 can I still format it to exfat. Am about to pull the trigger on one on amazon. I have movies that are very large that I would like to load on my z10

Am I correct to assume that you watch the movies on a TV or projector using the HDMI out? As you mention, this would be an issue if you did not compress them to under 4GB. Unfortunately, the compression also causes loss of video & audio quality.

The option that I use for watching movies on my PlayBook, Z10 and for HDMI out is WonderFox Soft's "Video Convertor Factory Pro". With it you can balance the compression ratio along with resolution, bit rate, etc. It's the best solution that I've found.

My 64GB MicroSD is practically full every time I head out on a trip!

What format are you ripping or downloading the movies in? I'm ripping BluRays down to around 2GB to various formats and the quality is amazing. Admittedly, there are fewer format choices for the PlayBook but the Z10 should handle pretty much anything you throw at it. There shouldn't be any need to load a movie over 2.5GB for quality purposes.
