Since the Z10 was recently released, I decided I would go on to the AT&T website and have a chat with an online representative. I, of course, know all about the phone, but I pretended to know extremely little in order to see the direction in which our conversation went. I was moderately pleased with the discussion, and I think if all stores are as positive about the Z10 as the AT&T representative was, then I think there's a good shot of the Z10 having excellent sales. Here is my conversation with the representative. Sonia is the AT&T worker, and David Smith, an alias I created, is myself.

AT&T sales representatives are happy to assist you with your questions.

AT&T sales representatives will not have access to your personal account. This service is provided to you under AT&Ts Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

You are now chatting with Sonia, an AT&T sales representative.

Sonia: Welcome to AT&T online Sales support. How may I assist you with placing your order today?

David Smith: Hi, what do you know about the new Blackberry Z10?
Sonia: Hello David I'm more than happy to help you with more details about this phone's features.
David Smith: Alright, so what do you have for me?
Sonia: RIM dug deep to give the slick-looking BlackBerry Z10 enough features to satisfy both consumers and professionals -- like a good camera and a sharp user interface.
Sonia: The BlackBerry Z10 has everything you've been waiting for: a sleek, modern, and professional touch-screen body with an up-to-date OS to match and 4G LTE support. You'll revel in the virtual keyboard's ease and in BlackBerry Messenger's seamless voice chats. You'll crow about the Z10's Micro-HDMI port, and enjoy the 8-megapixel camera with its built-in editing tools.

David Smith: Sounds nice. So, what makes this phone better then say, the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S4, or the HTC ONE?
Sonia: Each one of the above phones are great smart phone with so many features and every one has different ideas and opinion about the phones of their choice. However, the Z10's main competitor, iOS, is the new oldest operating system in the mobile phone world. Blackberry 10 is a sleek, fresh new operating system that has the power to take over.
Sonia: The BlackBerry 10 OS looks terrific, and comes with many of the world-class features you'd demand from a modern OS. It also adds a few of its own signature tools for security and business users.
Sonia: And if you are fun of Blackberry, you may go with this phone.

David Smith: Alright, so what about the App Store, known as Blackberry World. Isn't it lacking in the number of apps?
    (15 min. delay)
    David Smith: Still there?
    Sonia: Sorry about the delay.
Sonia: One moment while I look up that up for you.

    David Smith: Ok
    (10 min. delay)
Sonia: I am still checking more information about this phone.
    David Smith: All's Well
    (5 min. delay)
Sonia: The new BlackBerry® Z10 is faster, smarter and provides a smoother experience. Powered by the BlackBerry 10 operating system, all features and apps flow together seamlessly, helping you complete tasks effortlessly. Peek into the BlackBerry Hub from any app and swiftly return to what you were doing.
David Smith: That's all nice, but I asked about the app content.
Sonia: Thank you very much for your patience.
Sonia: Based on the information we got this phone has the capability of having full features of Blackberry world app.

    David Smith: Thanks
Sonia: You are very welcome, if you have more questions about this phone, Please allow me to transfer your chat to an AT&T wireless service Technical support specialist who will be able to assist you. Before I transfer you, is there anything else I can help you with today?
David Smith: Yes, one final question. If someone walked into the store looking for a new smartphone, would this be the first you recommend?
Sonia: I will recommend the IPhone5, Samsung Galaxy slll and this phone, since these phones are great phones and the newest version of their family.
David Smith: Thank you, and have a nice day.

So, that was my time with Sonia. I thought she was quite helpful. There were times when she seemed to be rather reluctant to tell me about some of the Z10's shortcomings, but all in all, she was kind. What do you guys think?

P.S. How cool was that iOS diss?

I thought that she was great. It's true that every smart phone out there has many great features, that is the reason for all the fans of each phone.
I think it's a personal preference and what you are looking for, myself I wanted the refreshing change of BlackBerry and am LOVING my Z10.
And I learn something new on my phone everyday.
There is not a day that I wish I had another phone.

I'm glad to hear that she was not bashing BlackBerry like I've heard from other people.
    Enjoy the Z10!!!

When I went to AT&T store yesterday morning the guy selling me the device said his co-worker had been using the Z10 for a week. I asked him what he though of it and here's his direct quote "I love it. Love the hub with all of my tweets, texts and emails in one location. The App Store is weak but the operating system is smooth."

The co-worker's jaw nearly dropped. I then mentioned about "side loading" android apps and they both wrote down the term to search it later. The idea of filling in some missing apps with Android ports was new to them and excited them, even the guy NOT using the Z10.
I was fully expecting them to tell me I was crazy to try this new phone, when instead they were quite positive and genuinely interested in learning more.

Well done to AT&T to have an employee actually using the device rather than just bashing it without trying it.
