I had just finished updating my blackberry and was excited to see the new features only to see that my music app would not open so i decided to restart my device when it turned back on the music app was gone i ended up deciding to do a security wipe (which is taking forever) did anyone else have that problem with the music app and know how to fix it for future reference?

I couldn't find the music app either after the upgrade. I had it in a separate folder and the upgrade deleted it from there. It was re installed by the upgrade and it appeared nested within other applications on the last screen page. I would suggest to look carefully around. If should be there.

My music app had moved for a folder I had created to the very end of all my apps. Still worked. Also my video app had moved as well, it remained operational as well

Try a hard restart if having issues

I am not sure if you did a wipe after you updated your device? I always recommend doing a wipe as patching/updating the OS with such big updates can corrupt something, wiping it usually fixes it.

This is bizarre. Did everyone who is having issues, have the icon nested under a folder?
After update, my Music and Video icons, remain just fine, on the main screen, where they have always been.

I checked the folders like everyone said they found theirs, and couldn't find it I'm quite desperate at this point, and any help would be really appreciated

I also ran into this problem when I did the sachesi/rogers update to 10.2. My Music and Videos apps were completely gone. Not even in different folders. When I did a search for the apps nothing came up. I used the google chrome bar installer to look into the apps on my phone and I found a sys.music or something like that. I launched it using the chrome extension and something came up, but there was nothing there. I could close this ghost music app but couldn't open it without the extension.

While I still can't figure out how to get the music app back (anyone with the music app.bar? I tried mediaplayer-10.2....bar but that didn't do it), I did manage to get the videos app back. When I used sachesi to download the update it put all the different bars into a folder. I searched through the folder and found videoplayer-10.2....bar . Sideload that bar file onto your phone as you would a converted app and you've got your videos app back!

Anyone with any other suggestions? Or possibly an earlier leaked copy of the OS with a music app bar from that? You can always use a music app from the app store but I prefer the original and I'd like to see what's new in it.

EDIT:

Success! You need to go into the folder with the all of the bars that were downloaded for the 10.2 update. The media app bars were listed like this in my folder:
Music App - airtunes-10.200.0.52-nto+armle-v7+signed
Pictures App - pictures-10.200.0.187-nto+armle-v7+signed
Videos App - videoplayer-10.200.0.56-nto+armle-v7+signed
Just re-install the missing apps over the previous ones. I'm not sure why Sachesi didn't install these bars or if there was some other problem (maybe because I didn't do a wipe first?). Just happy that everything is working.

I'm on AT&T using a STL-3 Z10, but in case you guys have the same model here are links for the .bar files you may need:

Same here! I was worried I lost some apps but then I could see the music app disappeared and reappeared again for a few times. All I could say is the upgrading experience to 10.2 isn't too smooth.

Did you read my solution? Reinstall the apps that you are missing from the .bar files you got from the Sachesi method. If you used a different method or the official method and don't have access to the bars needed you can download the ones I posted and sideload those onto your phone (which are os 10.2 versions). Or if none of the easier solutions listed in this thread work then let us know that instead. Also, if you used the official update couldn't you just restore the backup you made before updating?

Appreciate the tip, problem is I wasn't able to back up my phone prior to downloading the official update. Sucks though cause I lost my pictures during the update..
