Are all the red Special Edition Z10's (in Canada) the same model number? If so, can you tell me what it is?

Security wiping my Special Ed yesterday triggered a bb10-0015 error. Link barfs on attempted reloads, so I'd like to try an autoloader...but I need to know the model number. I don't see anything useful printed beneath the battery.

    Little help?

    Thanks.

There are two Red Z10's. I have the later one which will take up to the very latest 10.3.3 OS.

The early one looks a little different with the back cover off and is limited to 10.2 (or is it 10.3.2?). Basically the early one is the Texas Instruments STL100-1.

No time to give all info. now but I will take a pic of my red Z10 tomorrow so you can compare to yours then you'll know which of the two OS autoloader you can put on it.

Above is a link to a video which shows the two types of red Z10's. At around 15 seconds you can see them both with their backs removed. Things are in different places so you should be able to work out what type you have from that.

Model number of Z10 Red Special Edition?-img_20191010_193622.jpg

This is my own red Z10. If it looks like this and the SIM and SD are spaced out, then it is a STL100-2 and you should install 10.3.3.2137 (Software release) /10.3.3.3216 (OS version)

If it looks like the STL100-1 in the video and the SIM and SD are together then you need 10.3.2.2813.

If it's Z10STL100-1, then you have to install 10.3.2.

Any other Z10 model, and you have to install 10.3.3.

    It's alive! It's alive!

After crashing&burning back in October, I finally got back to this, and was able to resurrect my Red-Zed.
(Though I ended up loading 10.3.3.746, which seems to be missing some of the apps!?!)

Anyway, thanks for all the advice.

If you managed to put a developer edition on the phone, it sounds like it will take 10.3.3 happily. So you should install 10.3.3.3216 from this link https://mega.nz/#!UEwkxLTa!Q3y5xKCE4...dkG3EInalY18_g

I'd previously visited the mega link from your October post - thanks much for all that great info BTW - but misread the site that one must register to do any downloads, and so didn't bother.

Is there any way to validate the autoloader download files from mega, to ensure they haven't in some way been (intentionally) corrupted?

    Thanks.

You don't ever need to be concerned with that. The OS won't install, if anything not signed by BlackBerry was added.

Yes, Mecca EL is right. You can't tamper with a BlackBerry OS autoloader as the files it contains are signed by BlackBerry and the phone will only load an OS they have signed.
