I thought I'd share a recent experience. Yesterday I left my Verizon mobile Hotspot at home. Sad day for me as I needed to access my company VPN from my laptop and use my iPad on a jobsite. I remembered seeing a Hotspot icon in the phone somewhere but couldn't remember. I used the search function for the first time, and found it. I created a login password and launched the hotspot. I worked all day with my laptop connected to the company VPN and still recieved email, text messages, and phone calls. It seemed just as fast as much 4G hotspot box. I doesn't cost anything extra as they both on the same company data plan. It really saved my ***.
It eats battery fast, but I left it plugged into power whenever j wasn't on the phone so I've had no problems all day.
I don't know if It works the same with every carrier but with Verizon it worked brilliantly.

Love the hot spot function. With a big data plan we stay connected anytime anywhere. Our laptops and tablets are wifi only.

My computer is able to use my z10 hotspot for browser searching; however, it seems to be hung up when I try to send emails from Windows live Mail... do I need to alter some sort of setting to accomplish this? Thanks in advance... I need this function!

With Verizon, do you need a special "hotspot" plan? I've got unlimited data but no other add-ons to my plan.

I recall some thread where you had to play in the escreen but never followed it.

I use it since 7.1. It's the best feature that a phone can have imo
