So this happened a while ago but it's really starting to annoy me. Anyway, I downloaded the 10.2.1.1055 leak and since then I have been able to receive MMS messages but not send them. I thought the .1925 leak would fix it but to my surprise it did not, and then the official update didn't fix it either and I think the update may have downgraded me to .537 but I'm not sure, either way it's irrelevant. I haven't been able to send MMS messages since the update and I haven't been able to find any threads on the CB forums or even on the Internet so I thought I'd just start a new one, sorry if there's already a thread on it but I just want assistance in getting this fixed.

You need to reload 1925 on your device from the leak (same as the official that was sent to you) and do not wipe the device. MMS should work after that.

The "official" update in most places is completely 100% identical to the 10.2.1.1925 you already had when you installed the leak. Bear in mind that there are 2 types of version numbers for BlackBerry 10 OS:

    • OS Version
    • Software Release version

You can see both of these by going to Settings/About/OS on your device.

The OS version is the most important one. In your case that is 10.2.1.1925.

The Software Release version basically refers to the combination of OS version, Radio code version, and any bundled apps on the device. This can be carrier specific. The Software Release version for OS version 10.2.1.1925 is 10.2.1.537.

So if you saw 10.2.1.537, you were not "downgraded", once the 10.2.1.1925 OS version was "official", the carrier/Blackberry server adds the "Software Release" version to the device, that does not change anything other than the numbers.

And jaydee got to this before I wrote my second post.

This does work to restore MMS functionality for many people. If not you could try installing an even earlier version, check to see if MMS works, then install a newer version on top of that without doing a security wipe. Many people found that the security wipe was what caused them to lose MMS functionality. (Particularly Verizon customers)

I talked to Telus. They told me that their was a problem with their network, and not just on BlackBerry. They had me shut down my phone and then they "reset my profile". When I powered up the problem was fixed.

    I've never used a leak..

    Well that's certainly one option.

The usual issue with SMS working but MMS not working is that there is a problem with the APN settings.

In the case of Verizon, APN settings are not editable by the end-user. So people ran across this fix related to security wipes. (basically, loading an OS where MMS works, then loading a new OS without using a security wipe in-between)

However in the case of some other carriers (possibly including Telus), end-users can edit their APN settings, and in many cases I have seen that this solved the issue. (Setting them to correct parameters for your carrier)

I had checked my APN settings prior to calling them, and they had me go through it once more with them on the phone. They were correct.

Then, they told me of the SMS problems on their network and did the profile reset.

I was basically phoning to pick their brains about the .2141 update. They didn't offer any info

Good news. Let us know if it works after the restore and/or update to 2141.
