Microphone not working.
As of yesterday my microphone stopped working. On phone calls I can hear the other party but they can't hear me. Also any voice note / sound recordings are silent.
I'm guessing it's a hardware issue such as the microphone is broken.
Does anyone else have any ideas??

Just to verify you can run the bbve test. Search it in app world. Also try a blue tooth device or a headset to see if it picks anything up. Not sure but maybe you can do a warranty exchange.

Give a restart a try but it does sound like hardware
Try a restart:
Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.
If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work.

I've tried all those and still no go, so I'm positive it's the actual hardware which sucks.
It will get repaired for free under warranty but in the mean time the loaner phones they have are horrible. So in the mean time while it gets repaired I'll be in limbo using a crappy phone.

So I took the phone in to Telus for free repair since it has a 1 year warranty.
What a surprise they gave me a z10 as a loaner and didn't charge me a deposit for it either. Kudos to Telus on this one.

Q10 mic not working
I have had this happening for about 4 wks.
I have had the q10 for 6 1/2 months. the only way I could have a conversation was to use my Blutooth - all the time.
After 8+hrs on the phone to Bell Tech Support & Blackberry Support - it was determined by Blackberry that it was a hardware defect & the phone was to be replaced.
Bell refused to replace it, after Blackberry advised them of the situation. Bell insisted on sending it for repair because it was still within the 1yr warranty period. I just got it back. I will see how long it lasts before it starts acting up again.
I will update you if it is not fixed.

After mine was fixed it hasn't had an issue since and I'm a chronic phone dropper and I work in the trades so I'm very hard on my phone.
