What is the material of the back cover? The reason why I am asking is because I have access to a laser engraver and want to customize my phone. Also, what is the thickness of the back cover? I don't want to burn to deep and mess it up

Nope.
The Black Z10 is just rubberized plastic while a white Z10 is glossy coated plastic.
You might be best off buying a spare back door and just testing it.

Yes indeed... the phones feel sturdy in hand and not flimsy like the Samsung phones!

I also didnt think that they would use different materials for the Z vs Q... *shrug* ... now u know, Q's back is a lill more fancy..
