I've had my z10 for a while and have been happy, we are in an " excellent" 4g T mobile area. This weekend went to a conference in a much bigger city and got the 4g LTE signal. Ran Speedtest: 46 up and 13 down on a plan that costs 30 bucks a month. I don't anticipate getting lte at home anytime soon, but if you have good LTE coverage, wow.

Edit: up and down are obviously reversed 46 down 13 up. Sorru

I've been pretty happy on hspa+ ( average 5-8 down 1 up) and I knew lte was faster but I didn't think it was 10x faster and twice my home wifi.

LTE is sweet isn't it! I remember making the switch from Sprint since it didn't offer LTE in my area. Goodness...night and day between LTE and that 3G I had become accustomed.

T-Mobile LTE is awesome. I believe that they have the fastest right now when you are in an area that has the 20 MHz X 20 MHz coverage, and I think they are the only carrier in the US with 20 X 20 currently. The HSPA+ was better than most other carriers networks IMHO. My only complaint with T-Mobile is now they need to start investing in rural coverage.

This on Rogers in Guelph, ON.

Top is on Rogers LTE, and bottom is Rogers Express home internet. Simply amazing!

Sorry but I used T mobile in Michigan, it sucked! Forget LTE, I was lucky to even have signal to make a phone call

Well I'm in a major metro area and the coverage and performance are excellent. No carrier works everywhere, or has LTE coverage everywhere.

i suspect you have seen those adds comparing the LTE signals in the states. Its no secret that Verizon is rocking it, and although T-mobile is pretty spotty, if you are lucky enough to be in a LTE area, it is for lack of another word, a revelation.

I'm in a HSPA+ " excellent" region and have been pretty pleased, but in downtown kansas city, LTE is off the charts ( although not as good as the > 50 down off rogers but still close). It would be great if all US carriers could bathe every square inch of the country in LTE goodness, but the infrastructure costs for this are likely cost prohibitive. If they could, I'm guessing my no contract 5 GB per month plan would be a lot more than 30 bucks.

Got to love LTE but the way it kills battery just makes me stick with HSPA+. Until they release VoLTE LTE will just murder everyone's battery

I can vouch for Verizon LTE Coverage... my parents live in a town of 350 people, 50 miles from the nearest grocery store and 120 miles from the nearest mall and I get 4g LTE with full bars when I visit them.

I get pretty much full bars of LTE all over Ontario, very few times have I seen it drop off anything but LTE, Rogers is expensive but hey, so is Ferrari.

Sorry, I don't want to impugn anyone but is that photo shopped? If not were you arrested climbing and sitting on top of a LTE tower?

Isn't this close to what people in KC get with Google fiber ( I might be wrong but I thought it was like 100 down, 25 up)

Edit: I was way off Google fiber is like 900 down, 800 up which to me is incomprehensible. Still 86 down on wireless is wicked impressive.

No this not photo shopped lol, actually just saw someone else post in the low 90s with Rogers in waterloo. Hard to believe but it is what it is. And Rogers LTE Max is speeds of up to 150mbps download, so getting 80 is damn good

How do you guys check the speed of the signal? Is it as fast as wifi? I don't turn lte on to save battery but 4g is pretty fast, even for streaming...the only times everything slows down big time is when I go over my allotted data plan of 50g a month (or maybe 20g) it drops to 2g speeds on t-mobile...at that speed even music streaming lags.

The best LTE I ever got was around 36 down and 14 up on Tmob.

What you really notice on LTE versus 4g is the latency on LTE is very small. It might be that 4g on Tmob is terrible regarding latency.

BTW Tmob LTE in Las Vegas is terrible. About half the speed as in the SF Bay Area or socal. Vegas is one of their test markets since it is a metropolitan with real sharp borders. The gear there may be old compared to the urban areas of California. Marin County for some reason always has the best data rate in the bay area.
