I security wiped my Z10. Later when I set-up the phone using old BB id only a few contacts appeared back.

Is there any way to get the old contacts back.

Don't have a backup. Isn't there any other way.

Not unless you backed them up with another provider.

I wiped my phone recently because I wanted a clean slate after the OS update plus I had soo much useless junk on the phone. I did a backup but did not restore the backup.

My contacts were always synced with my outlook on our server. So it was easy to restore my contacts and calendar.

If you wipe you're phone that means you delete everything what is on and you are left with just the bare operating system. Unfortunately for you this is just a lesson to know what to do next time you decide to wipe the phone.
You have two options :
1. Use a gmail.com or outlook.com email accounts where you have the option to synk you're contacts and calendar, and after you wipe the phone once you re-add the email account you will get back you're contacts and calendar. (I use outlook.com)
2. Backup using BlackBerry Link before wipe and then you can reinstall from there.

Actually I think this is possible. If you don't use any contacts sync email then BlackBerry Protect will back up you're contacts. For sure was available on BBOS 7, not sure on the 10.

Unfortunately, PROTECT does NOT work that way on bb10. The backup/restore features are gone (other than on the initial setup)

In the future, the OP can explore using Firechest (it can backup and restore certain databases)

If you still have an old phone with your contacts in it you could bluetooth them over. At least that would give you a starting point.

I would hate to lose my contacts. I use ContactX to back them up whenever I make a change.
