Is this normal? Seems ridiculous to lose that much battery when it sits idle overnight.

When I used my Z10 I would always charge at night. That way I awoke with a full battery so the draining could begin. But yes, sitting idle, your phone still searches for a wifi signal, and anything running in the background still runs.....

Seems a little excessive battery loss to me. I would check how often your social apps update in the background. I have mine set to manual because they do impact battery life significantly. Also is your signal strength good when you are at home? Weak signal strength makes the phone work harder.

I am with Jaydee, charge the phone overnight.

The battery drain is bad but I have to ask. Why do you charge your phone then take it off the charger and go to sleep? Why not just leave it on the charger?

I want to ask, is it okay for us to charge our phone while we sleep? I mean charged it for 5-8hours. Does overcharged will shortage the battery life?

No it does not. I have always charged mine overnight while sleeping. In fact I have read that lithium batteries love to be charged. There are also software/OS features that work with charging to not cause damage.

Wanted to see how much it would drain overnight as an experiment.

I had this problem a while back and found out it was caused by Nemory's beta 3.0 Messenger app. Somehow the headless screwed around with the battery, dunno why. Yet, Snap2Chat was fine, so I guess somewhere the beta coding caused severe battery drain.
You might wanna test out new apps you installed and see if they are the culprit
