My culprit was Foursquare. Even after logging out, it will still turn back on. Finally deleted the app. I only used it once and that was when the location icon kept staying on.

Hey Mihal,
Well yeah I sometimes see the icon out of the blue. But most of the times, it's after using foursquare (even after quitting FS app)
In all cases, what I love about the Q10 is that I simply type location services from main menu, then flick the switch off then on, and voila.
Hope they fix this sometime (not a major thing though)

I still think it is the Fourrsquare notification settings. If they are set to explorer/wanderer/quiet it will always keep checking your location in the background ('headless').

This gives location based ads and/or suggestions.
So there is no 'fix' for this, it is working as intended.
BlackBerry 10 signed.
For me it was the native compass app. Thankfully they placed the location switch on the main screen. Turned it off and the icon disappeared.

I can not log out from foursquare. I try swipe down, press logout, it still login and appeared on the hub. I also try to open the setting, then log out. It still login. I use Z10.
When on login condition, icon location always appeared and cost much energy.
Please help.

Hi,
Had the same thing. The last foursquare update included a service that let's you know what's around the places you go and my gps icon was on almost all the time. If you are using foursquare there is a setting for. "When I arrive somewhere". Turn that off, worked for me. As mentioned before as well BeWeather Pro I think turns it on every so often, but goes away after a few seconds. I hope this helps.
