I have 10.2.0.1761 loaded as a leak. I am mostly happy with it except I can only run b via wifi and not 3 G. I am using a sim telco that does not support BlackBerry hence that's why there are no it a updates. I do however have a vodafone sim which is a BlackBerry approved telco.

If I insert the Vodafone sim, does it still suggest an update over my leak, or do I have have to do a security reset first. Is priority for an update given always to a bigger number suffix?

If what your carrier is pushing is a newer revision than what you have installed already, then you don't need to do anything besides installing the update OTA.

How do I know if I be would offered an update when I am on a leak? Ie: Does the leak withhold carrier suggested updates?

As long as they're within the same branch (for example, 10.2.0.1767 and 10.2.0.1803), then getting the update would be the same as if one's phone was on the carrier stock OS. If you check for updates now, what do you get?
