On my 9930, I am able to hold one button , say, the "L" and it launches the calendar. "D" launches the notes app. "N" for messages

So, I can accept that the glass keyboard might be fine for me.... but is there a way that I can just pick up the z10 and quickly launch the standard apps without flicking from one page (or window) to the next?

(Is there a video of how to set up / customize the z10... perhaps that will help me get better informed)

You could use the Search function, which is always accessible from the bottom of the home screens. Just type in the name of the app, and tap the icon that comes up.

Obviously no keyboard shortcuts, however, you can organize your apps into folders. That cuts down swiping between pages dramatically.
