I would rather get Snap which is a appstore that is close to the Google play store! It even pushes through updates for the apps you have downloaded so you always have the latest version

Bought mine the other day off eBay and it arrived today in 100 mint condition and a steal of a price. Now I'm waiting for it to update to 10.2.xxxx and it's taking forever lol. Excited to try but a little worried about battery life, my s5 is a soldier in that department.

I have a Note 3 so I'm with you with battery life. Just wanted to give the Z10 a try and figured for $140 it's worth giving it a shot as a second phone

Yeah. I'm assuming it can handle a days worth of use which is all I need really. Not much is beating a note in battery life tho haha

I was wondering about guides just the other day. I'm trying to convince a coworker to switch to BlackBerry and I think a guide that explains all the features in layman's terms might help.

When I got my first BlackBerry in 2007 I got one of the "Dummies Guide to...". It was a huge help and gave me a solid foundation of the basics from which I could figure everything out myself.

If there are similar feature guides here on CB, particularly printable ones, can someone PM me with the links?

If you are interested in some android apps, you can look into installing SNAP (see the Android app subforum) or the Amazon app store (visit amazon on the phone and find their app store APP!)

Definitely update the OS first. and install Snap for google play access and Amazon app store. these are the only alternatives I would recommend. But I would always recommend to look on BBW first before resorting to alternatives.

Just wanted to update you guys on the phone. So far I've come to like it, it's not going to replace my Note 3 but blackberry is finally moving in the right direction.

Pros:
- Blackberry hub
- Being able to use android apps (although BlackBerry World surprisingly has a lot of apps available)
- Keyboard
- design and feel of the phone is great, although I wish they would have done away with the blackberry logo at the bottom and had more screen real estate
- no app problems as of yet with android apps
- multi tasking is done great

Cons:
- wish the keyboard had a swift flow feature (maybe because I'm use to using swift key on my Note)
- when using SMS, I wish that there was a feature to hide the "action bar" where you click send or add pics to have more of the text
- bing as the browser search engine (if you can take this off please let me know)


After two days this is all I have. I'll give a better review when I've had it for a longer time. But all in all, blackberry 10 and the Z10 is great.

You can change the search engine. From the help app.
"While you're typing a search term in the Browser, tap the search engine icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Tap the search engine that you want to use."

The keyboard you'll get used to eventually.
