    I know the link is in portuguese, so I will explain what us going on in English. The apple iPhone may be prohibited in Brazil. Why? Because the name "iPhone" in Brazil belongs to a brazilian technology company named Gradiente. This company registered the name in 2000 while apple only in 2008. The Gradiente iPhone will be powered by Android jelly bean. The companies are fighting for the right of use the name in court, but Gradiente is the own of the name here.     Apple will throw money at it till they win. If they have to they'll pay the other company to settle the case. There's no way they will let them get away with this

    If Apple loses, t won't keep them from selling the iPhone there. It will simply mean that they cannot call it an "iPhone" in that market.

    They are too arrogant for that and will just spend till that company goes bankrupt or just gives in.

    They already offered a lot of money, but some way they couldn't make a deal. Gradiente probably thinks the name iPhone is much more valuable than what apple offered. It will be interesting considering this topic was discussed early this year. After a calm period, it came back noisy this week.

    They will just buy the company or throw their weight again. Being Apple they would end up winning suing them.lol

    Apple has a way of dragging things out in court forever. The battle who has more cash, pretty clear who would win that battle.
