    I'm pretty sure it won't but you could always try it out. Set it to go off In a few minutes and see if it works.

    That won't work. If you want, you can set "Bedside mode" on and be sure, it will save battery for a bit and you won't be disturbed by annoying notifications.

    NO! The older BB OS7 and earlier models would sound an alarm even if the phone was off. Too bad that was not carried to the new BB10 OS.

    It doesn't. When you turn on the phone again, it states that you've missed an alarm and I think it even plays the alarm tone/music. Which is quite useless then.

    No, not from my experience. To get alarm, put phone in bedside mode and hook upto charger.

    If you want it "off" (as in minimum power consumption) put it in AIRPLANE mode (all radios off) and allow the screen to time out (do NOT put it in "bedside mode") with all apps closed or minimized.

    The battery will last for close to a week in that configuration and the alarm will sound.

    This is effectively the same functionality as the former "shut it off" trick as all RF is disabled and power consumption is extremely close to zero.
